Job Summary:
The Sr. Director of Grants (SDG) provides leadership in the execution and management of grant development strategy, maintaining a robust grant administration infrastructure and providing a coordinated approach to grants management. The SDG provides direction and guidance to faculty, college administrators, and staff in developing and submitting competitive grant proposals, securing public and private funding for a wide range of projects and programs, and managing awarded funds to ensure their successful execution and compliance with grantor requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Individual must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. •Knowledge of principles of grant management •Knowledge of grant life cycle including proposal development and submission process, post-award process, and contract and regulatory compliance •Knowledge of effective grant writing and research processes •Excellent written and verbal communication skills •Excellent interpersonal skills •Strong analytical and problem solving skills •Strong organizational and planning skills •Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects •Ability to work with a culturally diverse environment
Required Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience
•A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field •Five years of work experience in public and/or private grans administration and compliance, including two years of supervisory experience •Work experience in a college or university setting preferred • Customer-service orientation •Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local funder statutes, rules, and regulations •Demonstrated experience with databases, including Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) •Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
