Job Summary:
To provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs in the daily operation of the College of Pharmacy student affairs office. This includes coordinating all non-academic and non-clinical activities for the students in the College. Provides support to other college activities and departments as needed. Individuals must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Experience with Microsoft products: Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook, and any other software programs required by the position. Must possess an intermediate level of skill using Excel and be able to manipulate data and formulas in the spreadsheets created. Able to type at least 50 words per minute. 2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact in a friendly, cooperative, helpful, and appropriate manner with all supervisors, faculty, administration, staff, students, and external stakeholders. 3. Organizational skills necessary to prioritize workload to meet long and short-term deadlines. 4. Excellent ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet all deadlines. Able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. 5. Able to stay on task despite multiple interruptions. Detail-oriented, adaptable, flexible, and creative in managing workflow. Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and sequentially.
Required Qualifications:
1. Education: Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities needed for the position. 2. 4-6 years clerical office experience or experiences working in a university setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred: work experience can substitute for the degree. 2. Experience: 4-5 years of administrative experience in student services and support, event planning in an academic environment.
Normal working hours are Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm. Evening and weekend hours may be infrequently needed.
