Position Title: Audio Visual Support Specialist

Job Summary:
Provide the academic community with classroom technology services and support. Provide campus entities support and maintain with audio visual needs. This includes operating, maintaining, distributing, installing, configuring, repairing, and upgrading various electronic products while ensuring their optimal performance. This person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training and assistance where required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Individuals must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. - Technical training in audio visual related field, educational technologies, or other similar programs. - Ability to schedule and perform preventative maintenance work, to troubleshoot and repair audio visual equipment. - Excellent technical knowledge of video conferencing, presentation, and other AV hardware and software. - Experience and knowledgeable with Windows-based PC’s and Mac. - Knowledge of AMX and Creston systems. - Experience supporting curriculum delivery in virtual and physical classroom settings. - Proven and exemplary customer service skills. - Ability to work under pressure and produce quality results. - Effective interpersonal skills. - Effective oral and written communication skills. - Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and independently. - Ablity to read and understand university policies and procedures, technical manuals, and manufacturer guides. - Ability to adhere to a strict schedule is a must. - Self motivated and directed. - Ability to perform detail-oriented work. - Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of AV experience - Strong customer service skills - Strong and demonstrated AV experience to cover critical and high-stake events
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience working in an educational institution. -Bachelor’s degree in a related field -Experience with digital AV systems -Experience with audio visual control systems.
List comments regarding work hours:
8 hour shift, typically between the 7 am-5:30 pm. Some weekend, evening or holiday hours may be required.
