Performs varied administrative and office duties to support the clinical activities of the Dental Center; requires extensive knowledge of dental office procedures and protocols
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Individuals must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Experience in the policies and procedures of a multi-provider dental practice, preferably within a dental school environment.
Dental services billing experience with knowledge of billing for Denti-Cal & private insurance companies.
Experience in working in an electronic health record and electronic billing.
Must have working knowledge of the laws governing billing and collections efforts.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact with health care professionals, students and patients. Bilingual ability helpful.
Experience with computers, Microsoft office, printers, calculator, fax machine, copy machine operation, and telephone operation.
Education: Associate of Arts degree and/or combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years administrative/clerical or equivalent experience and experience working in a healthcare clinicMust have a valid Driver’s LicenseMust maintain a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) that satisfies the requirements of the WesternU Vehicle Use PolicyPreferred Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Preference given to those who possess experience in an academic environment
Dental assisting experience
List comments regarding work hours:
A varied start and end time may be required. Work consistent hours M-F 8 am-5 pm. Some weekends and evenings may be required. Overtime may be required. Travel to CDM clinical sites which included but are not limited to Pomona, El Monte, and Rancho Mirage may be required.
