Position Title: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Curriculum Manager

Job Summary:
The DEI Curriculum Manager will work across teams to build, scale, and oversee CDM DEI initiative; develop lectures, exams, and other course content for CDM students. The DEI Curriculum Manager will also work to provide guidance and content for CDM employee development activities focused on DEI topics
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Individuals must possess these skills, abilities and knowledge or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
-Must be a Scholar of Medical Anthropology, Medical Humanities, or History of Science.
-Ability to develop and teach a new curriculum on intersectionality and health disparities in dentistry, medicine, and the biomedical sciences.
-Recognized knowledge and experience in a creating, implementing, and managing DEI curriculum for students and employees.
-Ability to communicate effectively to individuals and groups, both in writing and orally.
-Ability to interact in an effective and positive manner with individuals of diverse backgrounds, including administration, faculty, residents and/or students, staff, and outside contacts.
-Ability to effectively conduct detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality.
-Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities in an academic environment.
Required Qualifications:
-Demonstrated experience teaching about science and medicine in cultural, societal, and historical frameworks.
-Demonstrated experience in developing new curricula, a commitment to social justice, and a record of fostering critical dialogues between STEM and the social sciences, arts, and humanities.
-PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Medical Anthropology, Medical Humanities, or history of science
-Eligible for appointment as a Part-Time Faculty in the College of Dental Medicine.

List comments regarding work hours:
Working hours are usually 8 am-5 pm M-F. Possibility for some evenings and weekends.
