The Office of Mission Integration, Department of Academic Community Engagement is currently offering several Resident Pear Advisor positions to Summer Health Professions Preparation Program (SHPEP) alumnus. This position provides multiple opportunities for students to relay their expertise and provide mentorship to undergraduate pre-health professions students enrolled in the SHPEP. Classroom and afternoon dispersed curriculum assistance and gross anatomy lab teaching are areas of expertise needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Good verbal and written communication skills to be able to interact with faculty, staff, students, and any outside contacts.2. Excellent computer skills to use various related software e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Docs, and other software programs required by the position. Must have a good working knowledge of the Internet.
1 Must be a WesternU SHPEP Alumni2. Education: Any combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.3. Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in a related field. Previous experience in and academic and/or health care setting is preferred.

The work hours for this position will change as needed to meet the needs of the program. RPAs will not exceed more than 20 hours a week for the duration of the 6 week program.
