Position Title: Senior E-Learning Applications Developer

Job Summary:
Lead the design and production of interactive e-learning applications and media that are deployed to learning management systems for academic programs and continuing education. Oversee contracted consultants and vendors that provide additional support for the creation of interactive e-learning solutions. Research and recommend treatments and technologies to make WesternU an innovator in online learning. Provide hands-on support in various technical and creative activities within the Online Education department.

Required Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience working in an educational or organizational training environment
5+ years’ experience developing web applications and using various web programming languages
5+ years’ experience designing interactive e-learning media
Expert-level knowledge of:
Learning management systems (LMS)
SCORM and xAPI specifications, including custom integration
Learning record stores (LRS)
Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise)
Adobe Photoshop
Javascript, JSON, HTML, and CSS programming
Significant experience as the primary developer, working with stakeholders and subject matter experts to define project requirements
Experience writing technical documentation and job aids related to the handoff of completed applications
Experience interfacing with technology vendors for issues related to technical support and product research
Preferred Qualifications:
Optimally, significant experience with all or most of these technologies:
Front end web development
UI/UX web design
Adobe Creative Cloud (notably Audition, Illustrator and After Effects)
XML, jQuery, Bootstrap, and PHP programming
Adobe Audition (or another audio editing application)
Adobe Premiere (or another video editing application)
MySQL
Microsoft Power BI (or another business intelligence program)
Camtasia (or another screen capture program)
Familiarity with ADA/accessibility compliance
Experience using GitHub or another versioning platform
Higher education degree or coursework in related technical or creative fields
