Job Summary:
The role of the Temporary Administrative Assistant for Academic Affairs in the College of Pharmacy is to support the curricular operations of the College of Pharmacy. The primary purpose of the Administrative Assistant is to enhance the effectiveness of the College of Pharmacy’s Office of Academic Affairs by supporting its mission and goals. This is accomplished by ensuring that all day-to-day activities and projects assigned by the Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs are completed accurately and delivered when expected.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The Administrative Assistant must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. This can be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations. 1. Good computer skills in order to set up document formats in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and any other software program required by this position; and have the ability to compose and/or proofread text/correspondence quickly and with few errors. 2. Good math skills, including the ability to use spreadsheets and required formulas. 3. Strong verbal and written communication skills. 4. Must be able to communicate effectively with college administration, faculty, staff, and students. 5. Must be able to work and communicate effectively as a team member with other members of the college community.
Required Qualifications:
1. Education: Associate degree or combined experience/education may be substituted for minimum education. 2. Experience: 2-3 years of administrative assistant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 3+years of experience - Experience working in an educational setting. - Experience working with student assessment. - Experience with Exam Soft or similar electronic testing software.
List comments regarding work hours:
Typical work hours are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. During the year, the College and the University hosts several events. These events take place on and off campus and can occur during the workday or during evenings and weekends. Supporting these programs is a required expectation of this position.
